Workshops

Pre-project Workshop

In December 2018, before we started our research, we organised a workshop in Manchester.  The idea was to bring together colleagues who were also researching Brexit from ethnographic and social scientific perspectives. We hoped to pool ideas, identify common themes and to stand on each other’s shoulders rather than toes.

The drawings in the above slideshow were made by Paul Gent on the day and are a partial record of the event and our discussion.  For being there and helping us think, we would like to thank:

Kathy Burrell, Reader in Human Geography at the University of Liverpool

Katharine Tyler, Associate Professor in Anthropology at the University of Exeter

Robin Finlay, Senior Researcher in Social and Cultural Geography, Newcastle University

Leslie Fesenmeyer, Lecturer in the Anthropology of Africa, University of Birmingham

Soumhya Venkatesan, Senior Lecturer in Social Anthropology, University of Manchester

We would also like to thank Cathrine Degnen, Michael Howcroft, Katherine Davies and Alexander Kirby-Reynolds who joined us at a second Brexit workshop in Manchester in July 2019
